I loved the idea of a color-changing salt lamp, but I couldn’t find one anywhere. So I put one together, iterated on the design, and eventually found that I had something others might enjoy too. Since I had previously had success with crowdfunding, I figured this would be a good way to gauge interest in the venture.
In 2017 I launched the Mars Meteor Kickstarter and successfully raised over $5,000. I had a lot of fun prototyping a physical product for the first time. It was a completely different set of challenges from what I’m used to when working with software. As a solo project it was quite a bit of work, but I loved every second of it.
